Learn today, at work tomorrow

Almost every student asks it at the end of the day: so, can I actually find work with this? Almost every shop we visit says the same thing: I have been looking for months for someone who can already do it. We bring the two together.

Why we do this

There is plenty of work, but nobody is making the connection

Repair businesses are growing, but they are short of people. Training someone from scratch costs three months of wages plus the owner's time, and only after those three months do you know whether it will work out. At the same time, every month there are people in our classroom who want exactly this trade.

01

Shops want someone who can already do the job

Not a trainee looking over your shoulder, but someone who replaces a screen, changes a battery and explains to a customer what is broken from day one.

02

Students want a place

They have just spent eight to twenty-one hours with a soldering station and a microscope. What they lack is not the knowledge, but the first employer who says yes.

03

We see both sides

We are in the workshop ourselves every week and we know the businesses affiliated with our quality mark. We know who works the way it should be done, and we have seen the student solder with our own eyes.

For students

Our employment guarantee

What a shop ultimately decides is not up to us. What we do control, we promise firmly:

If you pass the practical test, we put you forward to at least three affiliated businesses within 30 days. If we fail to do so, you receive a follow-up course of your choice free of charge.

The placement costs you nothing. No registration fee, no commission, no amount deducted from your wages later. That is not only our policy, it is also the law: an intermediary may never charge the jobseeker. The shop pays us, you do not.

You do not need to write a CV. We send a single A4 page with what you had signed off here, photos of your own work from the course, how far you are willing to travel and when you can start. An employer wants to see what you can do, not where you went to school.

The filter

Five things you have to get signed off, or you are not on the list

Not everyone who takes a course ends up on the candidate list. That is exactly why shops take us seriously. On the last day of the course, your instructor signs off five components.

01

Screen replacement

Within the time limit, without damage to the rest of the device, and with every screw back in place.

02

Battery and moisture

Replacing a battery according to the safety rules and assessing a device for water damage.

03

Soldering

Removing and refitting a connector or flex cable cleanly. Applies to the soldering courses.

04

Diagnostics

A device with an unknown fault: working out what is wrong and what it will cost.

05

The customer conversation

Explaining what is broken and what the repair costs, without jargon and without empty promises.

06

Did not pass?

You may retake the test once free of charge on a course day. After that you are on the list all the same.

The separate list

Micro-soldering technicians are listed separately, and their test is tougher

A shop can teach screens and batteries itself within a few months. Board level, it cannot. Anyone who passes our soldering course therefore goes on a second list, with its own sign-off of six components that have nothing to do with screws.

M01

Measuring instead of guessing

Tracing a short circuit with a multimeter and bench power supply, reading the current draw and comparing diode values with a board that does work.

M02

Reading schematics and boardviews

Going from a symptom to the right test point on the board, and reading an error code or panic log instead of making up a story.

M03

Hot air and fine work

Replacing 0201 components and lifting an IC off and back on without wrecking its neighbours.

M04

Reballing and stencil work

Reballing a charging IC, audio IC or backlight circuit with a stencil and refitting it precisely.

M05

Water damage from start to finish

Stripping down, cleaning, assessing corrosion, restoring what has been eaten away. Not just drying it and hoping.

M06

Knowing when to stop

The customer's data comes first. Anyone who keeps going until there is nothing left to save does not get on our list.

Why a shop pays more for this. Devices with no image, that no longer start up, that will not charge or that have been in water currently go out to an external company, or are turned away. With someone who can work at board level, that work stays in house and so does the margin. People like that are scarce, and that is precisely why they pay for themselves fastest.

For shops and repair businesses

A repair technician who works independently from day one

You register your vacancy. Within five working days you receive up to three profiles, complete with the signed-off test and photos of their own work. You invite whoever you want, you run a trial day yourself, and you do the hiring yourself — we do not come between you and your staff.

No subscription, no exclusivity, no costs if you hire no one. You only pay once someone is on your payroll.

We keep two lists. The first holds repair technicians for everyday work. The second holds micro-soldering technicians, who work at board level and keep in house the work you currently outsource or have to turn away.

What it costs

One amount, paid on the first working day

No percentage of the salary, no monthly costs, no subscription. A recruitment and selection agency charges 15 to 25 per cent of the gross annual salary, which in this trade quickly comes to six to ten thousand euros. We work with fixed amounts.

Repair technician

€ 1.950 excl. VAT

Screens, batteries, connectors, diagnostics and the customer conversation. Up to three profiles, you choose. Quality mark members pay € 1.450.

Micro-soldering technician

€ 2.950 excl. VAT

Board level: no image, will not start, charging faults, water damage. Scarcer, and they keep in house the work you now outsource or turn away. Quality mark members pay € 2.450.

Trained to order

from € 2.950 excl. VAT

Have someone in mind who does not know the trade yet? We train them and then place them with you. Extended phone repair course plus placement: € 2.950 instead of € 3.499. With the soldering course included: € 3.950 instead of € 4.699.

What we do and do not guarantee. If things go wrong in the first two months, we look for a replacement once, free of charge. No refund: whether someone enjoys working in your shop is not up to us, and we are not going to promise that. If it turns out they cannot do the work we signed off, you do get your money back in full. That is our mistake, and we pay for it.

For shops

Tell us what you are looking for

The more specific you are, the better the match. We call within one working day to go through it.

Registering costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You only pay once someone joins your team.

We have received your request. We will call you within one working day to hear exactly what you are looking for.

Prefer to call us straight away?

On working days between 9 and 18, someone who does the job themselves is on the line.

How fast does this go

Within five working days of your request you will have up to three profiles. You handle the introduction and trial day yourself, usually the following week. Most placements are settled within a month.

Already a quality mark member?

Then you pay € 1.450 instead of € 1.950 and see new candidates first. Not a member yet? That costs € 79 per month.

For students and former students

Put me on the candidate list

Fill this in and you are on the list. If you have not taken the course yet, we will call you to see which one suits you best.

Free, and it stays that way. We only share your details with businesses you say yes to yourself, and we keep them for twelve months.

You are on the list. We will get in touch as soon as there is a place that suits you, and in any case within 30 days of your test.

What it costs you

Nothing. Ever. By law an intermediary may not charge a jobseeker, and we would not want to either. The business that hires you pays us.

Not taken a course yet

That is fine. Feel free to register and we will call to discuss which training suits you and what employers in your area are looking for.

What shops ask for

Almost always the same thing: someone who works neatly, turns up on time and treats a customer properly. The rest they will teach you there.

What we get asked most

Questions about the job guarantee

Is this really a job guarantee?
We guarantee what is within our control: if you pass the practical test, you are put forward to at least three affiliated businesses within 30 days. If we fail to do so, you receive a follow-up course of your choice free of charge. Whether a business hires you is that business's decision, and we cannot sign for that on your behalf. Anyone who promises otherwise is not telling the truth.
What does it cost me as a student?
Nothing. No registration fee, no commission, no amount deducted from your wages later. That is also laid down in law: an intermediary may not charge a fee to the jobseeker. You pay for the course, not for the placement.
What does the shop pay?
€ 1.950 excl. VAT for a repair technician and € 2.950 for a micro-soldering technician. Businesses affiliated with our quality mark pay € 1.450 and € 2.450. The invoice goes out on the first working day, with a fourteen-day payment term. If you hire no one, you pay nothing.
Why is a micro-soldering technician more expensive?
Because there are far fewer of them and because they bring in more. Devices with no image, a charging fault or water damage now go to an external company or are turned away. With someone who can work at board level, that work stays in house. They get six extra components signed off here, from measuring with a bench power supply to reballing with a stencil.
And what if it does not work out with the new employee?
If things go wrong in the first two months, we look for a replacement once, free of charge. You do not get your money back, because whether someone enjoys working in your shop is not up to us. If it turns out they cannot do the work we signed off, you do get your money back in full. That is our mistake and we pay for it.
Does the repair technician become your employee?
No. We are not a temping agency and have no wish to be one. The employee joins you directly, on your contract and your terms. We only bring people together.
Does this work in Belgium too?
Yes, in the Netherlands and Belgium, at the same rate. We keep the candidate lists separate by country, because hardly anyone crosses the border for this work.
We want to have someone we already know trained, is that possible?
That is the "trained to order" package: we train your candidate with the extended phone repair course and guide the placement, together for € 2.950 excl. VAT. Separately that costs € 3.499. For this training, employers can regularly obtain a contribution.
How many candidates will I see?
Up to three at a time, and only people who have passed the test and live within your travel radius. Better three who fit than twenty CVs you have to work through yourself.
What happens to my details?
We keep your details for twelve months and only share them with businesses you give permission for yourself. You can withdraw that permission at any time by email. There is more about this in our privacy statement.
