Extended MacBook repair course

Twenty-one hours of MacBook, spread over three days. From taking every model apart to finding a fault on the logic board, and from software recovery to data recovery.

What this course is about

MacBooks turn up at repair businesses more and more often, and the customer bringing one in paid more for it than for a phone. That makes it attractive work, but also work where a mistake is expensive.

In three days you work through every layer: the models and their quirks, taking them apart and putting them back together, diagnosis on the logic board, and restoring the system and the data. You are on real devices the whole time.

How the course is built up

  • Day 1: getting to know the MacBook models and their parts
  • Day 1: taking apart and reassembling, from housing to display
  • Day 1: basic diagnosis and replacing the parts that break most often
  • Day 2: deeper into the logic board, motherboard components and connectivity
  • Day 2: tracking down complex hardware faults, from logic board to screen replacement
  • Day 2: software recovery, reinstalling the operating system and getting data back
  • Day 3: sharpening your diagnostic skill on real cases
  • Day 3: solving customer devices with a trainer beside you
  • Day 3: exam and certification

Why take this course?

You learn from trainers who open up MacBooks every day themselves, not from a book.

You work with real devices from the first hour, so you build confidence in your own hands.

Afterwards you understand how the hardware and the software hang together, and that helps with every diagnosis.

You go home with a certificate you can use to show what you can do.

Before you book

The questions we get most

Can I use subsidies for this course?
Sometimes the local council will cover the cost of training. Your case worker decides whether you qualify, and your local council is where to ask. Employers and the Dutch UWV also regularly contribute.
Who is my trainer?
We assign a different trainer to nearly every course. Each of us has our own speciality and field. To us it matters that the trainer always has at least ten years of experience in their field.
What can I expect after the course?
After the course your learning really starts. You have the knowledge and it is up to you to put it into practice. You are not on your own: you stay in close contact with your trainer and can message them every day or hop on a video call when you get stuck. You also get updates on new techniques, new models and new tools, and you can log into our forum after the course.
What if I want more support afterwards?
We always advise first looking at how you can develop on your own, and we recommend against starting another course straight away. Make good use of the remote support. After six months we look together at whether a next step makes sense, for example a one-day follow-up course.
Can I take any of the courses if I have no experience yet?
No. Some courses require at least five years of experience. You cannot take the expert micro soldering course without any micro soldering experience. Start with the basic course instead.
I already have some experience. Which level should I take?
Get in touch and we will put together a tailored course with you. That way you know you are making the right choice and not paying for things you can already do.
Can I take a course tailored to me?
Certainly. We have standard courses that cover all the basics. If you have been at it longer, we work out a plan together covering the things you have not learned yet. That is possible for nearly every course, except the CPU training.
