How to check whether a business really is affiliated
- Check whether the logo links through. At affiliated businesses the quality mark logo links through to our website. If it does nothing, that is a first signal.
- Look up the name on our member map. Every affiliated business is on the map of affiliated businesses, with town and contact details.
- Not listed? Then report it below. We get in touch with the business.
We start with a conversation, not with a list
We check it out
Sometimes the report is mistaken, or a business has just joined and isn't on the map yet. We check that first.
We ask nicely
If the report checks out, we ask the business to take the logo down, or to sign up after all and go through the assessment.
If nothing happens, it becomes public
If the logo stays up while the business is not affiliated, we say so on our site. We don't like doing it, but we do it when it is needed.
Stuck with an affiliated business
Say you had your phone repaired at a business with our quality mark, something went wrong, and the two of you can't work it out. Then we mediate. We hear both sides and look for a solution everyone can move on with.
That is exactly why the quality mark exists. A repairer who joins agrees to follow the code of conduct, and we can be held to that.
