Why this quality mark is needed
The telecom sector has lacked oversight for years. Anyone can open a phone shop and offer repairs, without any form of checking. There are no legal requirements, no inspections and no body watching over quality or honesty.
In the Netherlands more than a thousand dubious repairers are at work. Most of them don't set out to shortchange consumers, but lack the expertise to carry out sound repairs. The customer then overpays for a mediocre repair, often with imitation parts that void the warranty.
We are changing that. The quality mark grew out of the need to protect customers and to make good, honest repairers visible.
Independent and practical
We are entirely independent. We do not fall under a government, a trade body or any other outside party. Our strength lies in our hands-on experience: we know where the market goes wrong and what customers expect from a good repair.
We carry out our own spot checks at affiliated members, on site and online, and keep the lines short. Only those who live up to our values may carry the quality mark.
That sounds good, but every quality mark says that about itself. There is no body that inspects quality marks, so it means nothing if we merely claim it. That is why we have written down the six questions you should ask any quality mark, with our own answer to each: what is a quality mark actually worth?
Who is the quality mark for?
For shops with a physical location that carry out their repairs in house, communicate properly with customers and have demonstrable expertise. We are not here to let everyone in. We are here to make the difference visible between a quick profit and lasting craftsmanship.
